What We Do
Developing Prison Education Policy
We draw on our work in prisons to contribute to developing policy in prison education.
We submitted this response to the last Government’s White Paper on Prisons, urging government to think more broadly about the importance and value of education in prisons.

Our submission 'Changing prison cultures through education' to the House of Lord's Justice and Home Affairs Committee Inquiry: Prison culture: governance, leadership and staffing was submitted in January 2025 can be found here. Our evidence was cited in the committee's subsequent report 'Better Prisons: Less Crime', in particular, on how vital the provision of education is as part of the solution to the crisis in our prison system. We welcome the recommedations of the report for greater purposeful activity.
